Dover council approves routine items, a 2% sewer increase and facility repairs

At its Oct. 3 meeting, the Dover City Council handled routine municipal business and approved several measures that will affect city operations and services.
The council approved the meeting agenda, prior meeting minutes, and the monthly financial statements and bills. Member Jodi Nicklay moved approval of the minutes; motions to approve the agenda and financials carried.
On facilities, council members approved replacement of fans and light bulbs in the community center gym. The council also approved a proposed 2% increase in sewer district charges for 2025.
In election administration business, the council voted to allow Olmsted County to retain Dover’s share of state voter account funds—listed in the minutes as $148.42—with the county providing election equipment, ballots, testing, absentee-ballot processing and personnel support.
Council members noted a Main Street parking-marking concept will proceed to quote-and-plan stage, County Commissioner Mueller offered brief county updates, and Member Chelsie Kiekbusch described an upcoming ATV ride fundraiser for ball fields. The meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
