Eagle Lake approves $27,057.56 server purchase to support Banyon software

The Eagle Lake City Council voted to accept a $27,057.56 bid from Computer Technology Solutions (CTS) for a three-node server intended to support the city’s Banyon financial/administrative software.
Keith Steinke of CTS told the council the proposed server includes three separate nodes, an expected hardware life of five to six years, and a five-year hardware warranty; he said licensing costs for the supporting software have increased roughly 160 percent and that a lower-grade server would not meet the city’s needs. Administrator Jennifer Bromeland told the council CTS could begin work in late February, with approximately eight weeks lead time for equipment and about one week for installation.
Council Member Anthony White moved and Council Member Beth Rohrich seconded a motion to accept the CTS bid; the motion carried with Council Members Steinberg, Rohrich, White, Lewis, and Mayor John Whitington voting in favor.
