Saline County commissioners approve law-enforcement pact, multiple fund transfers and routine claims

SALINE COUNTY, Neb. — The Saline County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine administrative actions at its March 31 meeting, including a law-enforcement agreement with the City of Wilber, several budget transfers and the county’s list of claims.
Chairperson Stephanie A. Krivohlavek opened the meeting at 9:30 a.m. and the board first approved the meeting agenda and the March 17 minutes. During the business portion, Commissioner Russ Karpisek moved and Commissioner Ray Rohrig seconded approval of a law-enforcement agreement with the City of Wilber; the motion carried with Commissioners Karpisek, Krivohlavek, Pribyl and Rohrig voting aye and Commissioner Hardenburger voting nay.
The board unanimously authorized county officials to sign an audit representation letter with the State Auditor of Public Accounts and approved the 2026 County Treasurer’s Public Tax Sale Return.
The board also approved three budget transfer resolutions: Resolution #2026-021, transferring $4,950 from the Inheritance Fund to the General Fund; Resolution #2026-022, transferring $3,350 from the General Fund to the Victim‑Witness Grant Fund (to be reimbursed when funds are available); and Resolution #2026-023, transferring $1,600 from the General Fund to the Juvenile Services Aid Program (to be reimbursed when funds are available). All three transfers passed on unanimous votes.
Commissioners approved courthouse lighting in blue during April for Child Abuse Awareness Month.
On claims, Commissioner Karpisek moved and Commissioner Hardenburger seconded approval of the claims as presented but excluding a $2,198 claim for a University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension computer; the motion carried. The board recessed at 11:20 a.m., reconvened at 11:30 a.m., and adjourned at 11:03 a.m. after concluding business.
