During the Public Works report, Superintendent Kurt Collins said he and a colleague, Nathan, are preparing phosphorus-reduction reporting that will be submitted to the state in a couple of weeks. Collins also reported that the plow truck transmission has failed; he said Viessman’s may have a used replacement and that staff are soliciting quotes for a smaller carpet cleaner. Collins added that he and Nathan are in St. Cloud this week for continuing-education classes through Rural Water.
Council reviewed photos of N. 9th Street where thawing has made road edges muddy and prompted vehicles to encroach on grassy edges. Collins said the city crew placed no-parking signs and cones along the edge of the road and that no heavy equipment will be used until the road firms up.
Councilman Stafford also moved to ratify a gambling permit application for Ducks Unlimited; Councilman Petersen seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The city record contains no additional detail about the event dates or permitting conditions.
Mayor JT Schacherer closed the meeting at 5:54 p.m. and announced the next council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m.
