Councilman David Hansen moved to authorize the West-field project and to direct staff or the presenter to inspect and ensure the East-field wiring is safe; Councilman Jeff Olson seconded. The motion passed unanimously with all six councilmembers voting in favor.
The council did not set a separate appropriation at the meeting; Gruwell said he would also examine the East field wiring this year. The council did not provide a timeline for when work will begin or indicate whether the excess cost will be covered from the parks budget, a contingency, or fundraising proceeds.
