Dellwood council certifies election results, keeps tort liability limits and approves raffle permit

The Dellwood City Council approved several routine items at its Nov. 12 meeting, including certification of the 2024 general election canvass, a resolution preserving statutory tort-liability limits, and a one-day temporary gambling permit for the Childrens Health Care Foundation.
City Clerk Joel Holstad presented the canvass of votes; on a motion by Scott St. Martin, seconded by Brady Ramsay, the council unanimously accepted the election results. On a motion by Greg Boosalis, seconded by Scott St. Martin, the council resolved that the city will not waive the statutory upper liability limits applicable to tort claims. The council approved a temporary gambling permit for a raffle at the White Bear Yacht Club on June 23, 2025; City Attorney Richard Copeland said the applicant qualifies as a tax-exempt, charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Code and that the application materials were in good order.
The council also approved the claims and receipts list for October 2024 (motion by Brady Ramsay, seconded by Scott St. Martin) and approved the Oct. 8 minutes with a clarification limiting a potential turnback of the Hwy 244 ROW to the segment between Tamarack St. and Dwinnell Ave. The meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
