Emily council approves fire grant application, waives hall deposit for school election and OKs hay wagon use

At its Sept. 24 special meeting, the Emily City Council approved three consent motions: submission of a Volunteer Fire Assistance grant application, waiving a City Hall rental deposit for a school special election, and allowing use of the city hay wagon by the City of Fifty Lakes.
Councilmember Gregory Koch moved to adopt Resolution 25-40 to submit a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Volunteer Fire Assistance grant application for matching funds of $4,921.66 to purchase portable radios for the Emily Fire and Rescue Department. Councilmember Andrew Hemphill seconded the motion and a roll-call vote recorded all ayes.
Councilmember Daniel Brennan moved, and Councilmember Gregory Koch seconded, a motion to waive the City Hall rental deposit for the Crosby-Ironton School District special election scheduled for Nov. 4, 2025 in the gymnasium; the motion passed unanimously. Councilmember Andrew Hemphill moved and Councilmember Daniel Brennan seconded approval for the City of Fifty Lakes to use the city hay wagon for an event; that motion also passed on a unanimous roll call.
All three measures were adopted by recorded unanimous votes from Mayor Tracy Jones and Councilmembers Daniel Brennan, Gerhart Hanson, Andrew Hemphill and Gregory Koch.
