Clerk Langowski told the Park and Recreation Board that the electrical service line feeding Whiteside Park is damaged and will be updated soon to prevent potential service disruptions. Langowski also described planned upgrades to the bandshell and other park features and said the Ely Events Group has expressed interest in donating funds to support improvements.
The board confirmed receipt of newly ordered grills and voted on locations for installation. Alyssa Richards moved to place one grill on the southwest side of the pavilion nearest 7th Ave E and the other off Harvey Street adjacent to an existing concrete pad; Eva Sebesta seconded and the motion carried without objection. Kochendorfer said he would contact the Ely Events Group to discuss partnership on the upgrades and invite them to the next meeting.
The minutes do not include cost estimates, a project schedule, or a formal donation commitment; the board’s action was limited to grill placement and staff follow-up on electrical repairs and donor coordination.
