Clerk Brian Pitzl told the Echo City Council on Feb. 11 that water bills were not mailed this month because the new utility-billing software is still being transferred from the old system and a few issues remain. Pitzl said the city hopes the system will be ready for the February billing cycle and explained that city office closures and clerk vacation dates will affect office availability in late February.
Public Works Supervisor Bryan Nielsen said he will attend training March 3–6 and has arranged coverage for snow removal while he is away. Nielsen reported the city is awaiting pricing information from its insurance carrier related to a generator fire and said the Department of Health completed a walkthrough; he expects to supply required information to that agency.
Sara from Oberloh Associates is preparing the 2024 budget and is expected to present to the council at its April meeting, Pitzl said. The council confirmed the March meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the Echo Community Center.
