Council approves furnace replacement, liquor license and several routine motions
Summary
The council accepted a $13,200 bid to replace three community center furnaces, approved an Echo Legion liquor license for Echo Days, and passed routine motions including minutes, election judges resolution and the consent agenda. Several small facility maintenance items were also approved.
At its July 9 meeting the Echo City Council approved a $13,200 bid from Daryle Kuehn AC and Heating to replace three original furnaces at the community center.
Councilman Reid Hanson moved to accept the bid and Councilman Mark Schettler seconded; the motion carried with Councilman Larsen absent. The council also approved a liquor license for the Echo Legion for the upcoming Echo Days celebration and asked Commercial Cleaning Services of Echo — previously approved to strip and wax the floors — to submit a proposal before work begins.
Other routine approvals included adoption of the June 11 regular meeting minutes, approval of Resolution 2024-007 appointing election judges for the Aug. 13 state primary, authorization to tune the community center piano (about $100) and approval of the consent agenda covering bills, payroll and bank information. Council also rescheduled the August regular meeting from Aug. 13 (primary election day) to Aug. 12 at 7:00 p.m., and the meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
Motions were recorded as carried with Councilman Larsen absent; the minutes do not record opposing votes or abstentions.
