Residents ask Emily council to study a public dock on Emily Lake

Ann Larsen said the town previously had boat access via The Bungalow dock, which has been removed, and two emailed comments were submitted in support of the proposal.
Council members and staff discussed property‑ownership and easement issues: the storm‑sewer drain property near Emily City Park is city‑owned but is subject to a Minnesota Department of Transportation easement, and staff cautioned that access down the storm drain would not meet ADA accessibility standards. The council directed the Park Commission to research possible locations and legal/permit constraints (including contacting MnDOT about the easement) and agreed to consider funding options for a dock during preparation of the 2026 budget.
