Emily council approves event and small equipment purchases, reviews park lighting options

The City of Emily council on July 28 approved several small purchases and reviewed park lighting options during a short special meeting.
Councilmember Daniel Brennan moved to approve a Silent Partner Production invoice of $2,000 for two mobile stages for Emily Day; Councilmember Gregory Koch seconded and the motion carried on a 5-0 roll-call vote.
Later the council discussed options from Crow Wing Power for a security light at Emily City Park — installing a new pole next to an existing pole and light for $4,000, installing a pole on the south side of Second Street next to the junction box for $2,000, or hiring an electrician to use an existing pole and wire a City-owned light. No final selection was recorded in the minutes.
Brennan also moved to purchase a stand-up projector screen (about $200), gasketed storage containers for audiovisual equipment (about $110), a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver (about $40), and two strings of solar lights for the Baseball Field Park (about $120) from the remaining 125th Anniversary budget for under $950. Mayor Tracy Jones seconded; the roll-call vote was 5-0 in favor.
Councilmember Gregory Koch then moved to adjourn; Mayor Jones seconded and the meeting ended at 3:27 p.m.
