During the April 16 meeting the Ely City Planning and Zoning Commission resumed review of the 2016 comprehensive plan. Discussion covered 'Land Use Implementation Strategies' and the commission’s role and responsibilities as set out in the plan.
Commissioners identified housing, redevelopment projects, timing of land acquisition and consistent zoning as key topics needing further consideration. The commission noted that pages 18–26 require additional review and asked members to read those pages before the next meeting so the discussion can continue with more input.
No formal amendments or votes on plan language occurred; the item remains on the commission’s workplan for future meetings.
