The Eden Valley‑Watkins School Board voted April 16 to approve Fine Arts curriculum updates and the World’s Best Workforce report, and heard district updates on enrollment and state assessment scheduling.
Fine Arts staff presented curriculum updates, standards, and an overview of the review cycle; Member Ann Lemke moved approval and Member Charli Magedanz seconded. Curriculum Director Melissa Notch presented the World’s Best Workforce Report, which the board approved on a motion by Member Jen Evens and a second by Nate Haag.
Superintendent Mark Messman provided an update on April 2025 enrollment and noted items for summer 2025 projects including an elementary roof and drainage work, an athletic shed roof, summer school planning, and intent to negotiate with certified staff. Elementary Principal Rob Pederson reported that 5th/6th grade Math MCAs were complete and that 3rd/4th grade Math and 5th grade Science MCAs are scheduled next week; Secondary Principal Dave Schneider said the district would consider moving graduation to 7:00 p.m. for the next year and reviewed testing dates for grades 7–9.
