Eden Valley–Watkins board extends superintendent offer to Joel Baumgarten

The board interviewed three finalists: Trish Perry (Superintendent, Foley), Joel Baumgarten (listed in the record as "Superintendent BLHS"), and Jason Mielke (Secondary Principal, Albany).
Member Christina DeRose moved to extend the offer to Baumgarten with the stated conditions; Member Ben Stommes seconded the motion, which the board carried unanimously. The motion specified that a mutually agreeable employment contract must be negotiated and that a criminal background check return results acceptable to the board before any hire is finalized.
Board Chair Jay Brovold and MSBA representative Barb Dorn contacted Baumgarten at the meeting to extend the offer and reported that he accepted.
