United Way reports local reach; Eagle Lake Lutheran Church donates changing tables to City Hall

At its Feb. 2 meeting, the City Council heard a presentation from Jill Cusick, United Way Resources and Donor Development Director, who summarized United Way’s local programs and impact. Cusick said more than 1,000 Eagle Lake residents received support through United Way-funded programs in 2024 and that the organization invested more than $63,000 back into the community. She reported the 2026 campaign is at 87% of goal and highlighted a matching gift opportunity from the Andreas Family Foundation of up to $50,000 for new and increased gifts.
Tom Hunter of Eagle Lake Lutheran Church offered to donate two changing tables for the City Hall restrooms and to pay for contractor installation; Public Works Director Andrew Hartman said a contractor estimate to install the tables is $150. The council adopted Resolution 2026-11 to accept the donation by unanimous vote.
Cusick provided donation options and contact information for residents interested in contributing to the United Way campaign.
