The Eagle Lake City Council unanimously designated $2,340,244.39 as a committed fund balance for capital outlay purposes, following a recommendation from the city’s auditor, Eide Bailly.
City Administrator Jennifer Bromeland said the figure represents the city’s pre-audit capital outlay balance as of Dec. 31, 2025. The formal designation is an accounting step to earmark funds for capital projects and aligns the city’s financial reporting with long-term capital planning.
Council Member Rohrich moved to designate the amount and Council Member Lewis seconded; the motion carried with the mayor and all council members voting in favor. Bromeland said the action should be completed prior to the finalization of the annual audit.
