Ely Council approves claims, fee schedule, raffle permits and labor contract in unanimous actions

Claims and routine approvals: Council approved City and EUC claims totaling $442,734.65 and a $5,100 invoice to the MN Rural Water Association. The council accepted the 2026 legal printing bid from the Ely Echo and approved several committee appointments.
Resolutions and permits: Council approved Resolution 2026-007 authorizing the Ely American Legion Post 248 to apply for a raffle permit (roll-call: Forsman, Lahtonen, Debeltz, Roose, Bisbee and Mayor Omerza voted yes; Campbell absent). The council also approved Resolution 2026-008 adopting the 2026 City of Ely fee schedule and Resolution 2026-009 related to the Outdoor Recreation Grant Program, and authorized Ely Events Group to apply for a raffle permit under Resolution 2026-010. Contracts and agreements: The council approved a grant agreement making the City of Ely the fiscal agent for a school concession update project under the Outdoor Recreation Grant Program.
