Ruthven council adopts FY 2026–2027 budget, approves resignation acceptance and routine personnel actions

The Ruthven City Council adopted its fiscal year 2026–2027 budget and set levies at a meeting April 28 at the Ruthven Social Center after a brief public hearing with no objectors.

Dustin Johnson, mayor of Ruthven, opened the hearing at 6:30 p.m. and closed it at 6:31 p.m. after hearing no oral or written objections. Council member Hailey Derrickson moved to approve Resolution No. 15-2026, adopting the annual budget and setting levies; Mitch Anderson seconded, and the motion passed with Anderson, Derrickson, Morgan Miller and Maya Naig recorded as ayes (Terrence Williams was absent).

The adoption authorizes the city’s spending plan and levy rates for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. The transcript records that levies were set but does not specify levy rates or total appropriations.

Shortly after the budget vote, Maya Naig dropped off the call. The council moved to adjourn at 6:47 p.m.; the motion carried.
