Dexter council reviews park resurfacing and proposed Pleasant Street walking path

The park work would remove the existing tennis and basketball courts, install a new base, apply new blacktop and stripe surfaces; the council was told estimates for the park improvements ranged from $25,775 to $27,500 and included converting the tennis court into two pickleball courts. The proposed walking path was described as approximately 1,500 feet of 5-foot-wide path from Pine Street East to the mobile home park, with cost estimates between $32,000 and $46,725.
Councilmembers agreed to seek other funding options for the park work and postponed any decision on the Pleasant Street walking path until funding is identified. No contract or appropriation for park work or the walking path was approved at the meeting.
