The Early City Council approved its consent agenda at the Jan. 7 meeting, including minutes, bills for payment and approval of the Early Fire Department chief and officers.
During the consent period, E. Pickhinke appeared to ask whether a utility deposit was required for a recently purchased property. The clerk provided the council a copy of Chapter 92 — Water Rates and directed attention to section 92.11 (Customer Deposits); the council advised E. Pickhinke that a utility deposit is required for the property, consistent with that ordinance section.
B. & C. Bainbridge attended regarding nuisance abatement; Mayor William Cougill said the city attorney has not yet responded and staff will follow up with the attorney’s office.
The clerk read a ledger of vendor payments and receipts that were approved as part of the consent agenda; the minutes list individual vendors and amounts and record a total of $97,528.51 approved for payment.
No new building permits were reported, and the clerk said Township Trustees will be invited to the next council meeting. The city attorney was not present at the meeting.
