The New Milford Board of Education on Aug. 19 awarded a contract for roof repairs at the Farm House to Global Hill Construction Corp., accepting the low bidder after reference checks.
Matthew Cunningham, the district’s Director of Facilities, described the work as a tear‑off and replacement of tab asphalt shingles across the house and porch, with an allowance for replacing underlying plywood if rot is discovered. He said gutters will be installed at the end of the project. Mr. Cunningham recommended awarding the RFP, and board members said they had no concerns following a review of bids and references.
Mr. Brian McCauley suggested the district publicize the project to show maintenance work; Dr. Janet Parlato said the district will post video updates of the progress on social media. The motion to award the bid (RFP E‑2425‑014) was moved by Mr. McCauley, seconded by Mrs. Tom O'Brien, and passed unanimously.
The board did not discuss contract pricing details in the meeting minutes; administration will proceed with contract execution and project scheduling.
