At its meeting the Hoover Sanitary Stormwater District approved several routine but operationally important items: a replacement sampler/booster pump for a main lift station (quote $3,781) contingent on warranty confirmation; a one-time software/hardware upgrade to enable automated flushing of a 30-inch force main (board approved $13,680); contract approval for Davie Resources to maintain stormwater sites; and payment of SRF claims and the regular claims list for March.
Operations staff said the existing sampler had been damaged in a flood and that the vendor quoted $3,781 for replacement; the board approved the purchase contingent on confirmation of a warranty period. The board also approved a one-time programming and interface upgrade to allow more frequent, scheduled flushing of the 30-inch force main to address odor and low-flow issues.
Other votes: the board approved not-to-exceed $1,979 for awning repair at a lift station, approved stormwater bond disbursement No. 62 for $10,000, and approved SRF claims totaling $251,269 and regular claims totaling $261,033.40. A Roadtorque preventive maintenance program was discussed but tabled pending clarification about warranty overlap with recent work.
The motions carried by voice vote; staff will confirm warranty details for the sampler purchase and return with any follow-up contract proposals.
