The director said the library must be ADA compliant to maintain its Tier 3 status for state funding.
Council members discussed potential city support and reviewed quotes for handicap parking near the city building. Mayor William Cougill said staff are "working to correct this" so the library will receive the financial information needed for its report. The council did not take a formal vote to pledge city funds at the meeting.
Library leaders asked the city to consider solutions that would benefit the building’s broader public use, not just the library, if the council chose to assist with ADA upgrades. The council requested follow‑up on exact installation quotes and possible funding sources before making a financial commitment.
