He told commissioners the plants now occupy much of the shoreline and could interfere with the spillway.
Commissioners said the conservancy district and local service districts are primary contacts for dredging and shoreline management and encouraged the resident to continue coordinating with those entities. The resident said spraying without a license is not permitted and that past chemical treatments had not worked.
No funding commitment or motion was recorded at the meeting; commissioners suggested further conversations with conservancy officials to evaluate whether dredging, harvesting or another approach is appropriate and fiscally feasible.
