District to cover homeowner sewer cross-connection remediation; staff budgeted ~$30,000

District staff told the West Haven board they located a sewer cross-connection in the Fair neighborhood (near 4000 E and 5100 S) and recommended the district fund remediation rather than pursue the homeowner for the cost.
John Wallace, a district staff member, said staff discovered remnants of sewer lines in the storm drain system and traced the cross-connection to a residence; staff reviewed prior inspection records and concluded the earlier approval did not prevent the present correction.
