Franklin County formally backs municipal broadband project for DEC review, urges minimal vegetation removal

The resolution also explicitly states it does not grant easements, property rights, or create financial commitments by Franklin County; those obligations remain with contractors and regulatory agencies. The Legislature voted unanimously to adopt the measure on a motion by Legislator Lauzon and seconded by Legislator Shoemaker.
County officials instructed that a certified copy of the adopted resolution be provided for submission to DEC as part of the project's documentation. The resolution reflects county support for expanded broadband access while noting environmental protections and regulatory responsibilities.
