Staff introduced two applicants: Rilla Rainsma, who previously served on the committee and had been removed for a volunteer‑agreement violation but completed a suspension period, and Marilyn (last name on file), who has no prior committee service. Board members discussed committee workload, representation of newer and longer‑term residents, and whether there are any term limits or formal bylaws for the advisory committee. Legal counsel noted the committee is advisory and recommendations do not bind either the Master Association or the Metropolitan District.
By roll call the board approved both appointments. One board member noted concerns about Rainsma's earlier removal but supported offering a second chance and emphasized that committee membership would be an opportunity to demonstrate understanding of committee rules.
The board also reviewed proposed 2026 employee handbook updates, which staff said clarify reasonable‑suspicion policy, personnel policies, compensation and benefits language, and workplace expectations and were reviewed by legal counsel. The board approved the updated handbook by roll call and staff said they will incorporate any remaining minor edits and return for administrative implementation.
No substantive amendments to committee structure were made at the meeting; the Master Association was scheduled to review applicants as well but had canceled its meeting for lack of a quorum. The committee continues to be advisory with monthly meetings.
