Ms. Spadafora elected vice chair of Malden School Committee

Ms. Spadafora was elected vice chair of the Malden School Committee on Jan. 2, 2024, during a special session at Malden High School, winning a unanimous roll-call vote.
The nomination came from committee member Mr. Drummey, who moved to nominate Ms. Spadafora for the 2024–2026 vice chair term; Mr. Bernard seconded. Mayor Christenson called the meeting to order at 7:17 p.m. and presided over the roll call. All nine voting members recorded on the roll call — Mr. Drummey, Mr. McCarthy, Ms. Spadafora, Ms. Macklin, Ms. Hortie, Mr. Gray, Mr. Bernard, Ms. Rose-Zeiberg and Mayor Christenson — voted yes, and the motion passed unanimously.
The meeting record shows the committee immediately took a motion to adjourn. Mr. Drummey moved to adjourn at 7:21 p.m.; Mr. McCarthy seconded, and a unanimous roll-call vote closed the session. The minutes note that notice of the meeting was filed with the Clerk of the City of Malden in accordance with Chapter 39, Section 23A of the General Laws.
