The Coventry Cemetery Commission voted unanimously June 18 to allow a permanent garden bed inside the Perunko double plot at Coventry Cemetery and to consolidate two older rules on flags and upright poles.
The commission approved the family’s request for a garden bed in the Perunko plot (Section B, Lot 121) on the condition the planting remain within the lot boundaries. Sexton Rich Mindek was directed to notify the family of the commission’s approval.
Separately, the commission voted 4-0 to combine and update two existing rules concerning flags and upright poles. Chair Kevin Arpin will make the final edits and send the revised language to Dianna to be posted on the town website. Commissioner Claudine Vieten said she would send a letter notifying Mr. Flores about the updated flag rule.
The actions formalize two routine matters that the commission said will be reflected in posted cemetery rules. No amendments to the approvals were recorded at the meeting.
