The Blandford Select Board, meeting in the Town Hall Select Board Chamber on Feb. 2, 2026, discussed plans to temporarily relocate the Porter Memorial Library into Town Hall so staff can reorganize department office space and prepare for the library move.
Cara Letendre, chair of the Blandford Select Board, said the board would use movers coming for the temporary library shift as an opportunity to reorganize several town offices, including moving some Conservation and Planning staff into the Select Board Chambers and having Planning and Conservation share the Water Department’s double office. Letendre said the board will meet with department heads to finalize logistics and timing.
Jackie Coury, a Select Board member who spoke for Town Administrator Cristina Ferrera, reported that Finance is progressing on the budget and that formal budget meetings are expected to begin soon. Coury’s remarks on behalf of the town administrator were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The agenda listed a Porter Memorial Library item tied to Nicole Daviau; that agenda item was recorded as tabled. The board discussed the temporary relocation to Town Hall as a separate operational item and did not record a formal vote on the relocation during the Feb. 2 session.
In procedural business, the board recorded two motions on meeting minutes. T. Cousineau moved to approve the Select Board meeting minutes of Nov. 24, 2025 'as written'; J. Coury seconded and Chair Cara Letendre was recorded as abstaining in the minutes. The transcript records a motion to table the Select Board meeting minutes of Dec. 8, 2025: Cara Letendre moved to table, J. Coury seconded, and the minutes state 'All in Favor.'
Administrative Assistant Joann Martin told the board that Archive Solutions will be on site March 2, 2026 to assist with file purging and document cleanup in Town Hall. The meeting adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
Votes at a glance: the minutes show approval of the Nov. 24, 2025 minutes with an abstention by Chair Cara Letendre; the Dec. 8, 2025 minutes were tabled by unanimous consent as recorded.
Next steps: Select Board members said they will meet with department heads to plan office moves and logistics related to the temporary library relocation; Archive Solutions is scheduled for March 2, 2026 to begin records purge work.
