Laura Sandate described the optional flexible school day program (OFSDP) application for Blended Academy, an annual notice to the Texas Education Agency that permits districts to offer flexible schedules for students who have dropped out, are at risk of dropping out, or are behind in course credits. Sandate said the application will describe student schedules, staff plans and attendance accounting procedures and recommended the board authorize the board president and superintendent to sign the OFSDP application; the board approved the recommendation by unanimous vote.
Jennifer Sutton presented the 2026–27 dual credit partnership agreement and Early College High School pathways memorandum of understanding (MOU) between San Felipe‑Del Rio CISD and Southwest Texas College. Sutton described the agreement as the operational plan for delivering dual credit courses (core curriculum, career and technology, and dual language). She noted a tuition stipulation: if the district does not provide an instructor for a course, Southwest Texas College may charge $55 per credit hour for students who are not FAST‑eligible (students who are not classified as economically disadvantaged). Administration recommended the superintendent be authorized to sign the dual credit MOU; the board approved the MOU unanimously.
Both approvals now allow administration to finalize applications and signatory documents with TEA and Southwest Texas College.
