MLP reports rising modem failures; fire‑station addition advances after permit

MLP Manager Ken McInerney told the board he met with Andrew Short of Whip City and reported an increased rate of modem failures; failing modems are being replaced. He said Andrew had not answered questions about overdue accounts and that he will begin documenting a vegetation management plan.
Separately, the building inspector issued a permit for the fire‑station addition. Chair Jason Jayko said he will reach out to the inspector again to obtain an updated fee schedule and suggestions for an alternate inspector. The board noted the metal roof for the fire‑station addition should arrive by the end of the week and that the floor will be poured on Wednesday. Keith Lacasse said he added soffit ventilation and the board thanked volunteers helping with construction issues.
The board also noted that the most recently purchased fire engine required another repair costing $700; the Fire Chief has not yet answered some of the board's questions, and Chair Jayko said he will follow up.
