Select Board hears Greylock Road repairs and winter-planning updates

Road Commissioner Keith Lacasse told the Select Board that crews replaced two pipes on Greylock Road, excavating about three feet, adding a foot of stone and filter fabric, and installing another pipe roughly 50 feet downstream. He said he sanded Greylock when it became slippery but deferred plowing on sections that were too soft.
Lacasse noted the town mower is currently parked in the fire-station addition; he plans to add fluorescent markers to posts, replace two pieces of plastic soffit, and reframe a door in spring. Ken McInerney reported moving wires and agreed to install a light at the fire station.
On winter operations, the board agreed to coordinate with the town hall custodian about who will operate the snowblower and assigned Mark Phelps to gather prices for an electric snowblower. Ken also said he will prepare a short survey about the transfer station and contact Lanesboro’s town manager to explore shared services; he reported some paper has been put in the plastic/metal recycling bin.
The board had no grant updates from MassDOT and expects to hear on an ADA grant soon. No formal votes were recorded on road work or equipment purchases at the meeting.
