The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority Mortgage Committee on July 23 authorized a recommendation to the Board to open a public comment period on proposed amendments to CHFA's Multifamily Program Procedures. Pasquale Guliano, Managing Director of Multifamily, requested the authorization and said the amendments are intended to provide greater flexibility in daily functions and to enhance the department’s readiness to respond to market changes. Jenna Zaikarite, Multifamily Program Compliance Officer, provided a summary of the proposed amendments.
The motion to recommend authorization of the public comment period was made by Lisa Tepper Bates and seconded by Gregory Ugalde; the committee voted by roll call and was unanimously in favor. The action forwards the proposed procedural changes to the Board with a request to open the public comment period, after which staff will review comments and return recommendations to the Board.
Next steps: If the Board authorizes the public comment period, CHFA staff will publish the proposed amendments for public review and collect feedback prior to any final rule or procedure changes.
