Sharon selectmen unanimously back $7 million borrowing recommendation for 10-year capital plan

Selectman Brett moved to approve and adopt the 10-Year Capital Projects Plan and to adopt a resolution recommending an aggregate $7,000,000 appropriation and borrowing authorization; the motion was seconded by First Selectman Flanagan and carried "with all in favor." The resolution recommends that the appropriation be used for design and construction costs, materials and equipment, removal and disposal of existing materials, engineering and other consultants' fees, legal fees, net temporary interest and other financing costs related to the projects.
The resolution further recommends that the Town issue bonds, notes and temporary notes in amounts not to exceed $7,000,000 to finance the appropriation, and specifies that the amount authorized to be issued will be reduced by any grants or other funds received by the Town for the projects. If the Board of Finance approves the recommendation, the Board of Selectmen will submit the resolution for consideration at a Special Town Meeting on April 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Sharon Town Hall, 63 Main Street.
The meeting record lists First Selectman Flanagan and Selectman Brett among those present, along with Carol Flaton and Town Secretary Tina Pitcher. Flanagan moved to adjourn after the vote; Brett seconded, the board voted "with all in favor," and the meeting was adjourned at 2:10 p.m. The minutes were signed by Town Secretary Tina Pitcher and filed with the Office of the Town Clerk on April 1, 2026.
