Road Commissioner reports beaver-damaged culverts and MLP addresses internet drop reports

Road Commissioner Keith Lacasse told the board that beavers have been repeatedly damming culverts on Ingraham Road; he unplugged the culverts, covered both ends with grating, patched a hole the beavers chewed through, and plans to add chain-link and grating over the culvert ends. Lacasse said he finished chipping and brush cleanup on Mallery Road and replaced two culverts on Greylock Road. He said paving timing is not yet known and will be coordinated with reclamation work.
On utilities and the municipal light plant (MLP), MLP Manager Ken McInerney said he will survey necessary vegetation-management work. Two residents on Beach Hill Road reported continued internet drop-offs after router resets and may need new modems; McInerney said he passed the information to Andrew Short to check the network side. Road Commissioner Keith Lacasse said he will stake underground boxes where needed.
These maintenance and service items will continue to be tracked by the board and staff; no formal vote was taken at the Sept. 22 meeting.
