New Ashford Select Board appoints town hall custodian, cultural council representative; approves minutes and warrants

The New Ashford Select Board approved the minutes from its Aug. 4, 2025 meeting and made two appointments during its Aug. 18 meeting. Mark Phelps moved to approve the minutes; Jason Jayko seconded, and the motion carried unanimously among members present.
On a pair of motions by Mark Phelps, seconded by Jason Jayko, the board unanimously appointed Hannah Singer as Town Hall Custodian and Cecilia Hirsch as the town's representative to the Northern Berkshire Cultural Council. The appointments were approved without recorded opposition.
The board reviewed Fire Department invoices dated July 1 and June 18 and agreed to invite Frank Speth to the next meeting to discuss those bills. Warrants were reviewed and signed before the meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
The board listed a Tax Classification hearing for Aug. 25 at 6:00 p.m.; a Select Board meeting will follow that hearing to consider the town tax rate and paving bids.
