Nashoba school committee votes to enter executive session on Unit A collective bargaining

The Nashoba Regional School District School Committee voted on June 4 to enter executive session at 8:05 p.m. to discuss strategy related to Unit A collective bargaining. The chair moved the motion, citing Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 30A, § 21(a)(3), saying: "I move to go into executive session at 8:05 p.m. pursuant to Mass. Gen. Laws chapter 30A, section 21(a)(3) to discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining if an open meeting shall have a detrimental effect on the bargaining position of the public body and the chair so declares."

That motion was seconded and approved by roll call. The chair confirmed that all current school committee members present were recorded on the vote. Committee members called during the roll call included Scott, Robin, Amy, Gillian, Lindsay, Jackie, Sharon and Matt; each answered in the affirmative. The chair said, "I think I got all of the current school committee members on that vote."

The chair identified the participants who would join the executive session: Superintendent Kirk Downing; Assistant Superintendent Ross MacCuran; Director of Human Resources Jessica Murdock; and town administrators Denise Demkoski (Stow), Marie Sobalvarro (Bolton) and John Woodsmaul (Lancaster). The chair also thanked "Nikki" for arriving to assist with meeting logistics.

The committee voted to enter executive session and the chair stated the meeting would adjourn in executive session.
