Eastford Board unanimously approves Strategic Plan, adopts Shipman & Goodwin budget procedure language

The Eastford Board of Education on Dec. 12 unanimously approved several routine but consequential items, including the district's 2024–2025 Strategic Plan and replacement of the board’s Policy 3150 on budget procedures.
Chair Stephen Bowen called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. In the first substantive action, a motion by Adam Minor, seconded by Lauren Barlow, to approve the Board’s Nov. 14, 2024 minutes passed unanimously.
Later in the meeting Lauren Barlow moved, with a second from Michael Bilica, to replace Policy 3150 (Board Budget Procedures and Line Item Transfers) with the corresponding Shipman & Goodwin policy. The board voted unanimously to adopt that language, formally aligning the district's board-level budget transfer procedures with the Shipman & Goodwin model.
Michael Bilica moved, seconded by Robert Ellsworth, to approve the district’s 2024–2025 Strategic Plan; that motion also passed unanimously. The Strategic Plan will serve as the board’s stated priorities and guide district work for the coming year.
The board reviewed monthly financial materials and disbursements for November 2024 but recorded no budget transfers. The meeting adjourned at 6:48 PM after a final unanimous motion by Adam Minor, seconded by Robert Ellsworth.
Actions recorded in the minutes show all listed motions carried without recorded opposition.
