Hebron council approves finances, cancels Feb. 15 committee meeting and directs solicitor to set regular meeting dates

Council acknowledged receipt and approved the December 2022 bank reconciliation on a motion by Council President Dr. Valerie Mockus, seconded by Councilmember Paige Seymour; the roll call vote was unanimous. Councilmembers also voted unanimously to cancel the Combined Council Committees meeting scheduled for Feb. 15, 2023 so that Mayor James Layton and Dr. Mockus may attend the Lakewood Schools Community Connection meeting that evening.
Village Solicitor Wesley K. Untied requested a motion to create legislation establishing the dates and times of council and committee meetings for 2023. Dr. Mockus moved to direct the solicitor to draw up legislation setting Council meetings for the first and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and Combined Council Committees meetings for the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.; Councilmember Stacy Stoner seconded the motion and it passed on a unanimous roll call. (The meeting transcript incorrectly lists the year as “2013”; meeting context and subsequent agenda postings indicate 2023 is intended.)
On the legislative calendar the council reviewed two second‑reading resolutions (22‑17 and 22‑18) authorizing agreements for economic development services and legal services, respectively, and several first readings: Ordinance 01‑23 (parking restrictions on Lakewood Drive), Ordinance 02‑23 (award of a mowing contract along State Route 79 to Mow‑tivated Mowers) and Resolution 23‑01 (declare a 2003 Horton cutaway van not needed and express intent to donate it to the West Licking Joint Fire District). No final votes on those ordinances or resolutions were taken at this meeting.
Clerk Christina Furbee said the 2023 meeting dates and times will be noted on the next council agenda and posted on the village website and public posting places. The meeting adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
