The motion to appoint Miller was made by Councilmember Annelle Porter and seconded by Councilmember Paige Seymour; a roll call vote found all councilmembers in favor. After the oath, Miller thanked those who supported her promotion and singled out Interim Administrator and Fiscal Officer Deborah Morgan for mentorship and guidance.
The appointment follows interviews for the vacancy in community development staff. Fiscal Officer Deborah Morgan told the council the Community Development Assistant position will be advertised with a two‑week application window to fill the role Miller vacated.
The council’s action was procedural and took place at the opening portion of the meeting; no additional votes or legislation were required to finalize the appointment.
