Ira Johnson elected chair of Three Oaks Parks and Recreation Board

The Village of Three Oaks Parks and Recreation Board unanimously elected Ira Johnson as chair at its Sept. 9 meeting. Secretary Larry Shawver moved to elect Johnson to fill the remainder of the term vacated by Lindsey Clements; the motion was supported by Brian Overley and passed without dissent.
The vote followed brief discussion and formal nominations from the floor. Johnson, who had been serving on the board since his appointment in August, will assume the chair's duties immediately and will take a lead role in upcoming park projects, including the Chamberlain Path rain garden and coordination with the Department of Public Works.
The board approved the meeting agenda and minutes from the Aug. 5 meeting earlier in the session. No further procedural actions were required, and the board adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
