Board approves temporary 'zombie box' for Lake E1-C over relocation proposal in 3–2 vote

On a motion by Bob Schultz, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board approved installing the temporary zombie box at a cost of $3,098. The motion passed 3–2; Schultz, Twombly and Keith Merrill voted in favor, while Terry Mountford and Kurt Blumenthal voted against the measure. Minutes show the board intends to revisit the relocation proposal during FY2026 budget discussions.
The discussion highlighted the tradeoff between a low-cost temporary fix and the higher upfront cost of relocating the aeration box farther from the original proposed location. Staff recorded the larger relocation cost and will include the item in budget planning for FY2026.
