Lake maintenance update: compressor noise reduced; Board to evaluate moving equipment

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the River Ridge CDD on July 23 that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition but seasonal algae growth was observed. Kurth said a cabinet installed around the compressor system at Masters Lake reduced measured sound from 64 to 52 decibels and that plantings are scheduled to be installed in the near future.
Operations Manager Shane Willis said the principal concern is not the decibel level but the "tone of the aerator," and the Board discussed options including relocating the compressor and reviewing easement constraints. Mr. Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to consider moving the compressor and will report findings at the next meeting.
Board Chair Bob Schultz summarized related concerns in Edgewater, including flooding and potential piping and rip-rap work, and recommended a meeting with the Edgewater condo association (through Cambridge Management) and Mr. Tim Wilkin to seek a mutually acceptable solution. The consensus was to delay planting in Lake E4-A until agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association and staff will resubmit any planting proposal after coordination.
Mr. Kurth left the call after his update; no formal action was taken during the meeting.
