Committee approves senior final schedule, adds five new scholarships

The Middleborough School Committee unanimously approved the Class of 2025 senior final schedule and voted to add five newly donated scholarships to the high‑school scholarship booklet.
Principal Paul Branagan walked the committee through senior final days (May 15–29), Senior Walk, senior memory night and a graduation ceremony set for June 7 at 6 p.m. He said senior week events will include a future signing day and an evening scholarship recognition. After discussion and a motion to approve the calendar, the committee voted in favor.
Branagan also introduced five donor‑funded scholarships for inclusion in the 2025 scholarship booklet: three Oak Point–related scholarships (including memorial and homeowner scholarship funds), the Middleborough High School Class of 1965 scholarship (essay‑based) and the Richard G. Brooks senior memorial music scholarship for students excelling in choral and string music. The committee moved and unanimously approved adding the scholarships; the scholarships will be announced at the scholarship information night on Feb. 11.
Committee members applauded community donors and emphasized outreach to eligible seniors and families about application details and deadlines.
