A committee member moved to accept the proposal and a second was recorded. The meeting recorded a voice vote in favor when the chair asked, "All in favor?" and the affirmative voice was recorded. No roll‑call tally was included in the transcript.
Administrators told the committee the contract rate is higher than the amount previously paid to the district‑funded special‑services director (who had been grant‑funded), and the $40,000 increase in contracted services shown in the FY27 draft budget reflects the higher rate; the superintendent said the sped grant that funded the prior arrangement has no capacity left to cover the position.
