Dartmouth Conservation Commission continues four hearings, approves meeting schedule

At its June 23 meeting the Dartmouth Conservation Commission continued four separate public hearings to give applicants time to complete peer review or obtain zoning relief, and it approved its meeting schedule through January 2027.
The commission continued DEP file 15‑2821 (NOI 26‑11, Owen Drury — an after‑the‑fact filing involving riverfront area and buffer zone restoration) to September 15, 2026. Staff told the commission the matter will require ZBA relief and planning‑board site‑plan review before restoration plantings should be finalized.
Two other continued hearings — DEP file 15‑2825 (NOI 26‑16, Morgan Bloom care of Brandon Faneuf, commercial automobile dealership) and DEP file 15‑2826 (NOI 26‑15, Ray Young care of Tom Schultz, infiltration/stormwater system tied to a proposed ~5,785‑sq‑ft convenience store) — were continued to July 7, 2026 to allow peer reviewers (CEI and others) to complete comment rounds. A fourth hearing, DEP file 15‑2827 (NOI 26‑17, Kevin Medeiros care of Kevin Silva, apartment complex grading and parking), was continued to July 21, 2026 while applicants revise plans per DPW engineering comments.
Commissioners voted unanimously on each continuance. Chair Mike and staff emphasized that continuances provided applicants time to coordinate ZBA and planning board requirements so that any required restoration or planting can occur at appropriate times for plant survival.
The commission also voted unanimously to adopt its meeting schedule for July 2026 through January 2027 and discussed how the town posts agendas; staff advised members and members of the public to check the town website for filings. Several commissioners noted staffing and peer‑review constraints that have slowed some filings.
