Region 4 board re-elects leadership, accepts donation for JWMS library seating

At its Nov. 6 meeting, the Region 4 Board of Education unanimously re-elected Kate Sandmann chair and filled officer posts, and accepted a $3,267.59 donation from the R4 Foundation to add collaborative seating at John Winthrop Middle School.
The Regional School District No. 4 Board of Education unanimously re-elected Kate Sandmann as chair at its Nov. 6 meeting at John Winthrop Middle School library, and filled the remaining officer posts for one-year terms.
Board members nominated and voted to elect Alex Silva as vice chair, Rick Daniels as secretary and Richard Strauss as treasurer. The board named Sandmann, Daniels and Strauss as the district’s Supervision District representatives. The motions were made, seconded and approved unanimously.
The board also voted unanimously to accept a $3,267.59 donation from the R4 Foundation to be used at the administration’s discretion to purchase seating for collaborative learning and extracurricular space in the John Winthrop Middle School library.
These votes were taken early in the meeting during the consent and organizational portions of the agenda. No roll-call dissent or abstentions were recorded in the minutes.
