Members also emphasized the need for clear signage to prevent users — particularly cyclists — from accidentally entering the Colorado Trail, which is off‑limits to bikes in places, and to protect campers’ privacy.
One committee member reported contact from a volunteer service group that has offered up to about 75 volunteers for a workday on Sept. 12, and members discussed how volunteer crews and local trail groups could help keep project costs low.
The committee gave staff direction to continue exploring alignments, BLM boundary limits, signage needs and volunteer coordination, and to return with further options and recommendations for a future meeting.
